Welcome to the 2017-18 school year at Holy Cross
Published on Sep 2, 2017 11:51

Welcome to all our families, both returning and those new to our community, to the 2017-18 school year. Our staff members have been working very hard to ensure that the school is ready for our students.

On the first day of school, we ask that students grades 1-8 make their way around the west side of the school (the side with the portables) to the schoolyard.  Students will find 'Grade signs' posted on the school walls at the back of the school, starting with grade 8 closest to the intermediate entrance, and proceeding downwards to grade 1 which will be near the primary entrance.   Kindergarten students please proceed to the Kindergarten gate on the East side of the school, where kindergarten teaching staff will be there to help direct the children.

For new families, please be aware that our school day begins at 8:55 a.m. , and the supervision in the schoolyard begins at 8:35 a.m.

We continue to see our student population grow!
To accommodate this growth, some adjustments to the classroom structure and classroom placements may be necessary during the first couple weeks of school, that is, classes and teachers that are posted on September 5th may need to be adjusted as our student population evolves. We ask that you be patient with us as we identify the actual number of students and alter the staffing/student placements to fit with the Ministry and Board required parameters.  Thank you for your understanding as we all settle in this week.

Please encourage friends/family of Holy Cross that are not registered for these E-Blasts to sign up by clicking on E-Newsletter on our website! It is the best way to stay current with what is going on in the school, and receive automatic updates.

We look forward to another great year!
